Who is invited to attend the 2012 World Discipleship Summit?All members, guests, friends and families affiliated with the International Churches of Christ. For security reasons, international attendees who are NOT affiliated with our fellowship of churches will not be given letters of invitation to attend the conference. Because of the volume of inquiries, we kindly ask that if you are not affiliated with our fellowship of churches please do not submit a request. Each request is specifically researched for validity and verified. NOTE: Only the individuals registered for ILC will be permitted to attend the ILC sessions. ILC attendees will have access to all eight conferences. Other conference attendees may attend any session within the seven other conferences. Is the conference registration fee refundable?No refunds after Febuary 15, 2012. There will be an administrative fee of US$20 (per transaction) charged for refunding a registration fee. This administrative fee includes double charges. Please contact us before submitting your registration twice. When does my Conference begin?Please see the Schedule Page for information What if I want to bring children?There will be children’s playground and play area available during classes and general sessions. If you will be bringing your children, please know that a parent/adult must accompany your child/children to the play area. We will have a very special Block Party for children on Friday, July 6, 2012, and we will also have a play area for children on Thursday and Saturday. Again your child/children must have a parent or adult to enter. TEENS UNDER 18 MUST BE REGISTERED BY AN ADULT. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR TEENS UNDER 18 WHO ARE REGISTERED BY AN ADULT. What is the cost of the hotel?Please see the Accommodations Page for additional information or go directly to the hotel website to make your reservation. Do I register for housing at the hotel directly?Yes. We will not be able to arrange hotel reservations for you. After you submit the registration form for the conference, you must then make your own hotel reservation to reserve a room at preselected hotels. We have also made recommendations based on conference and needs. There are NO UPFRONT COSTS to reserve a room so reserve today. [CLICK HERE FOR HOUSING PAGE] When should I book my flights?Try to book your flights as soon as possible. The sooner you book your flight, the cheaper it is likely to be. Which airport should I fly to?The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is fifteen minutes from downtown San Antonio, where the conference will take place. You may also fly into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, TX. However, it is an hour and thirty minutes away from downtown San Antonio. How should I get from the airport to the hotel?Please see the Airport Transportation Page for details on how to get to your hotel near the Riverwalk. Will I need a rental car?No. Most sessions will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center so you will not need transportation. We also have bus passes available for transportation to and from the AT& T Center for evening program. Do I need a Visa or Letter of Invitation to fly to the United States?Please check the www.travel.state.gov website and review information on our International Travel Information Page. July is the middle of summer so dress accordingly. Check weather forecasts ahead of your trip before packing (www.weather.com has a 10-day forecast that might be helpful). When should I arrive?Please review the schedule to determine when you should arrive and make your plans accordingly. Delegate and Regional Meetings will begin Tuesday and Wednesday, while all Opening Sessions will begin Thursday, July 5, 2012. If flying in, please give yourself at least two hours from landing at the airport for the commute to the hotel. How many people are expected to attend the conference?10,000- 12,000 disciples from around the world. Where will the Sunday Worship Services be held?It will be held at the AT&T CENTER. Are there restaurants near the conference?There are many restaurants surrounding the hotels and the convention center in the downtown area. However, participants are responsible for their own meals during the conference. You will be given extensive information regarding restaurant choices when you check in at the Registration Desk. What else is there to do in San Antonio?San Antonio is a beautiful city in Texas and a major tourist spot with millions of visitors each year. Because of such, the city offers a wide variety of things to do and see. Please check out THINGS TO DO for a list of information. Where do I park my car during the conference?Parking can be very tricky downtown so plan to walk but everything is easy access. The best option is to take advantage of parking at your hotel because you will have in and out priviledges. There are also a number of parking areas around the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center. When will onsite registration begin?Registration will begin on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 3pm. The ILC and Singles Conference will begin July 5, 2012 at 9am. When should I plan to depart?The World Discipleship Summit ends Sunday around 1pm. We recommend early evening Sunday, July 8, 2012 or stay with us through Monday, July 9, 2012.
